Chateau dYquem 2001

About this wine:
There are 10,000 cases of this perfect sweet white Bordeaux. The 2001 Yquem reveals a hint of green in its light gold color. While somewhat reticent aromatically, with airing, it offers up honeyed tropical fruit, orange marmalade, pineapple, sweet creme brulee, and buttered nut-like scents. In the mouth, it is full-bodied with gorgeously refreshing acidity as well as massive concentration and unctuosity. Everything is uplifted and given laser-like focus by refreshing acidity. This large-scaled, youthful Yquem appears set to take its place among the most legendary vintages of the past, and will age effortlessly for 75+ years. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2100+.

Australian wine, Lost Highway Pinot Noir Macedon Ranges 2004

“Vine Street Imports owner Ronnie Sanders enlists top American and Australian winemakers for his one-off Lost Highway Project bottlings, creating extravagant wines like this velvety, earthy Pinot Noir from sought-after boutique Australian producer Bindi.”

About this wine:
A perfectionist approach, by Bill and Michael Dhillon, both in the vineyard and winery has resulted in a meteoric rise to winemaking stardom for small Macedon winery, Bindi Wine Growers. Established in the late 1980’s with the assistance of legendary winemaker, Stuart Anderson, Bindi now rates up there with the likes of Bass Phillip and Giaconda as a producer of Australia’s finest Chardonnay and Pinot. “This piece of ground is unequivocally one of the top vineyard sites in Australia… The 2004 Bindi wines are absolute crackers.” Max Allen, Weekend Australian. The artist on this new Lost Highway series was Justin Hampton, a well-known Rock artist.

TRENTON, N.J. – If you were pulling for “New Jersey: You Got a Problem With That?” as the new state slogan, forget about it, buddy. The winning entry in the slogan contest was: “New Jersey: “Come See For Yourself.”

The new tag line is aimed at drawing more tourists to a state often associated with mobsters, traffic-choked highways and refinery odors that cause drivers to roll up windows on the way through.

“Our catchphrase should hint at our true beauty,” Gov. Richard J. Codey said.

The slogan was the top choice among 11,227 telephone and online votes cast by residents for five final entries.

In the end, voters decided it was better not to tell people to “Expect the Unexpected,” have “Love at First Sight,” enjoy “The Real Deal,” or discover “The Best Kept Secret.”

The contest was launched after Codey rejected a marketing company’s proposal, “We’ll Win You Over.” He said it reminded him too much of when he was single and asked girls out on a date.

His office and tourism officials chose the finalists from about 8,000 ideas, including “You Got a Problem With That?” and “Most of Our Elected Officials Have Not Been Indicted.”

The winning slogan’s author, state transit agency worker Jeffrey Antman, won two tickets to a New Jersey Nets or Devils game and a two-night stay at a golf resort — in New Jersey, of course.
